Oppressed Nations Are
Yawning for Democratic election and True Representation: TPLF is on the
processes appointing (anointing) itself on the people of Ethiopia.
In order to participate
in the processes of election, people in Ethiopia in general, the
oppressed nations in particular, and those who attempt or desire to come
to power through ballot box should ask key questions, to be honest for
themselves and for the people they claim to represent. Those questions can
be, is there conducive atmosphere in Ethiopia for genuine parties to be
formed to contest election, to express its objectives, to recruit members,
let alone competing for power. If there is any, what are the constituent
bases of each of the main parties? To what extent are the oppressed, the
poor, groups represented within the parties? How broad is the ideological
spectrum? Is there any room for alternative principles and projects?
How Political competition is organized? Are there fair electoral laws? Is
there a realistic opportunity for opposition parties to gain power through
elections? Is there any agenda for the oppressed nations and for the poor?
The historical facts in
Ethiopia so far and TPLF’s behaviour since it has come to power in this
mater strongly suggest negative answer for those questions. In fact TPLF
is self appointed political entities, by taking lion’s share from the
struggles against the Dergue regime, The oppressed nations and the true
voices of nations like Sidama and SLF, Oromo and OLF, Ogadenese and ONLF
and others have equally contributed to topple the Dergue regime. The
hypocrite TPLF appear democratic enough to the extent of accommodating the
oppressed nations and their voices to be heard, to show itself for the USA
policy makers that claims “no democracy no aid” its truth self appeared
when it chased away, SLM (F), OLF, ONLF and others from transitional
government of Ethiopia. After those political organizations left the
transitional government the TPLF followed the policy of imprisonment,
torture, harassment, killings, genocide against the oppressed nations. In
the Sidama context, it culminated in Looqe massacre on May 24, 2002.
Contrary for what TPLF has
been doing so far for the oppressed nations in general, the Sidama in
particular, the TPLF and its leaders following the strategies of
approaching failed and rejected individuals from the Sidama struggle by
offering positions, money, and house building land. With those individuals
the TPLF leader Meles Zenawi appeared in farmers household, eating tima
or Qixxa jut like anthropologist or evangelist who might be
searching some thing at the grass root level, while the Sidama blood of
May 24 2002, and some other individuals in the hands of TPLF and its
current bridges, to deceive the Sidama to vote for this predetermined
election.
The Sidama, and SLF, know
who is TPLF, and failed and rejected individuals, the blood of innocent
Sidama, the suffering of survivors is still on your hand the Sidama knows
its true and disciplined sons and daughters, are ready to take necessary
action.
Thus, SLF warns you TPLF,
rejected and failed individuals take off your hands from the Sidama
people. Partners of the genuine struggle continue your struggle as it is
stipulated in the formation of AFD, as well as distance your self from
those individuals.
International community
should aware that TPLF is not in the process of election, but on the
processes of self appointing direction. Therefore, assist struggle for
freedom, democracy and justice.
