It is to be recalled that Meles Zenawi launched a
savage war on Eritrea in 1998-2000 that claimed the lives of 100,000 from
both sides, now he is preparing for another disastrous war with Eritrea.
This war could be avoided if Meles accepts the internationally binding
decision.
Last year Meles blindly invaded Somali with no
reason behind it except for his well known brute act of to destabilizing
the Horn of Africa. In recent month, his army have entered into the Kenyan
territory claiming to ‘clean-up dissidents in the area. All these
activities show that the war monger Meles Zenawi is creating instability
in the region. Doing this, in vain he aims to divert internal tension
(problems) that he had created by miscalculating the maturity of Ethiopian
politics.
While other countries throughout the globe are
trying to modernize and build their economy in relation to the 21 century,
Ethiopia is lagging behind due to many faced wars that region is engaged.
SLF strongly believes that there is no gain for
the Sidama people, to take part in this war or any other savage wars like
this. This conflict should be solved by peaceful means. Any human and
material loses due to the continuation of hostilities is the
responsibility of the warring regime in Addis Ababa. Therefore, we advise
the Sidamas and other peace loving people not to participate in this
savagery war.
Our message to the Ethiopian military is, think
for a moment why are you fighting? Why should you pay unnecessary
sacrifice? Who will benefit from this war? You fight and die but a few
privileged Tigrayans will reap the benefit. Why Ethiopia is fighting here
and there, while Ethiopian masses are living in misery? You shouldn’t be
gun fodder for Tigraya’s benefit. Today Ethiopia’s number one enemy is
TPLF (Meles Zenawi), turn your gun towards TPLF (Meles Zenawi) and get rid
of him then and only then Ethiopia will live in peace and prosperity.
Finally, we urge the international community (UN)
to pressurize Meles Zenawi to accept the international verdict on the
boundary issue and stop war
